P2K(Pattern To Knowledge)深度知识发现人工智能(A.I.)
P2K (Pattern to Knowledge) Deep Knowledge Discovery Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Software System is developed to uncover the A.I. black box by patterns. According to International Data Corporation (IDC), worldwide revenues for big data and business analytics (BDA) will grow to more than $203 billion in 2020. Existing Big Data Analytic A.I. Decision Support Systems are limited by their interpretability, which blocks their massive adoption. P2K discovers/disentangles patterns rendering understanding and knowledge as well as enhancing prediction with reasons rather than just giving a black box decision. University of Waterloo (UW) researchers have developed novel software P2K (Pattern to Knowledge) to discover deep knowledge inherent in bio-sequences (DNA/RNA/Protein/Antibody) and tabulated mixed-mode relational tables (financial portfolio and patient therapeutic/drug records). By deep knowledge, we mean patterns and relations not manifested at the data level due to subtle entanglement of multiple/entangled factors in the source environment. The advantages include: 1) Time/Cost Reduction in experiment/system setup; 2) Higher accuracy in knowledge discovery; 3) Robust to data noises such as mislabeled or imbalanced classes; 4) Flexible in processing different types of data: bio-sequences, time-series and temporal event sequences and mixed-mode relational datasets. P2K offers significant benefits in a vast range of applications including but not limited to 1) Drug development; 2) Genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic data analysis; 3) Genetic testing/diagnostics - personalized medicine; 4) Environmental detection; 5) Other sectors that relational tables are used for data records. As part of this Market Assessment grant, the selected consultant will perform a thorough market analysis to identify the most suitable market opportunities along with technical, marketing and financial challenges associated with the application of the new technology in a particular market segment. A favorable market assessment result will further guide the development of the second-generation prototype and help formulate the commercialization strategy and attract early stage investments.****
