The increasing value of electronics to automobile manufacturing, together with the demand for light vehicle OEM automotive sensors, requires a response by research organizations to promote research and innovation in sensing systems, and to facilitate commercialization of this new technology. This CRC is contributing significantly by providing innovative solutions to address challenges and by training HQPs. The Chair's research targets two strategic research areas: sensor and automotive electronics innovation for future vehicles, and the development of distributed wireless sensing systems for future plants. The research outcome will help increase the productivity and profitability of automotive manufacturing enterprises and the global competitiveness of the Canadian automotive, medical and other manufacturing sectors.
