This proposal is an extension of a recently completed Engage Grant project entitled: Investigation of windturbine faults caused by icing in the Canadian climate. This project seeks to enhance and increase the benefitsassociated with the use of the meteorological conditions monitoring station (MCMS). Capstone have proposedto extend the previous project into the assessment of icing related downtime on turbines and seek solutions toimprove performances of their turbines operated under atmospheric icing conditions.
