英文摘要
This research will contribute to the integration of novel Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) to improve the serviceability of municipal infrastructure of Canadian cities, with a focus on mobility and transportation services. It is estimated that the global market for Mobility- as-a-Service (MaaS) is worth $5.4 trillion a year [1]. By 2050, the distance travelled in urban journeys is expected to triple in number which will result in doubling average time drivers spend languishing in traffic jams. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) includes a set of smart mobility services over multi-modes such as carpooling, public transit, car rental, and bike sharing. These services can be customized to each traveller's real-time context. Understanding interactions, and inter-relationships among mobility services is a challenging task as they involve business processes distributed among various stakeholders; including federal, provincial and municipal government agencies, private transportation service providers, individual travellers/ drivers, private businesses and media outlets.***This research studies, designs and creates novel computational artifacts to enable collaboration and coordination among stakeholders. The proposed research will answer the following questions: Given a particular service a group of stakeholders would like to provision, how can schemes of integration be automatically inferred and defined to guide the seamless selection and execution of stakeholders' capabilities, services and resources? What coordination schemes are required to have mobility services inter-operate (e.g., what are the required standards to support data exchange)? Answers to this question guide dynamic run-time aspects of application delivery including adaptively processing large volumes of real-time big data capturing urban dynamics. The platform builds on the strength of the ONE-ITS platform and services designed will be available via open API for community members to use and enhance. The multidisciplinary nature of this research will provide students with opportunities to explore and create new content in urban informatics, cloud computing, Internet of Things and Services, and Big Data.
