项目摘要
Algonquin College and OptiWave Inc. of Ottawa have partnered in a collaborative applied research project to validate the company's latest software system. The project will generate theoretical predictions and performance simulations of a fibre optic sensor designed with the company's software. The sensor will then be fabricated and measured in Algonquin's photonics lab, and the data will be compared with the numerical simulations. The project will enable the company to verify its software system and possibly to improve it. The company's involvement in the project will ensure that project outcomes will have immediate commercial impact. This creates a 'win-win' for the College, via generation of HQP and by providing an opportunity for College researchers to become better aligned with the needs of industry.
