项目摘要
Le projet explorera les options de gestion forestière pour adapter les forêts boréales commerciales de l'Est aux changements climatiques. Nous nous concentrerons sur l'élaboration de stratégies de gestion pour maintenir la productivité à long terme des forêts en optimisant l'utilisation des ressources pédologiques disponibles et le cycle des éléments nutritifs dans les peuplements, en particulier les cycles C et N. Un élément central de cette stratégie sera l'analyse et l'optimisation du mélange des espèces au niveau du peuplement et le développement de traitements sylvicoles qui pourraient accroître la résilience des peuplements aux environnements futurs. Nous proposons donc un programme de recherche qui évaluera de manière exhaustive les effets du mélange des espèces et les effets des traitements d'éclaircie sur la productivité au niveau des peuplements. En tant que résultats définitifs de notre recherche, nous fournirons également des directives pratiques pour la sélection des combinaisons d'espèces et la sélection des traitements sylvicoles pour maintenir la productivité des forêts commerciales sous le changement climatique.
