This research will be aimed at the design and fabrication of novel optical and plasmonic devices suitable for structuring single photons and optical beams. The goal of this project will be to apply these optical devices to quantum computation, quantum information and secure quantum communication. These novel optical devices may potentially be commercialized, since they could be used to generate beams having specific polarization/phase and intensity distributions, suitable for a variety of industrial and commercial applications.
