英文摘要
How we interact with tools and objects in our environment is one of the most fundamental, yet vital aspects of human movement. Despite the fact that activities of daily living come natural to most people, the human hand and forearm (our most basic means to interact with the external world) has unimaginable complexity. This makes it difficult to coordinate movement successfully and safely. Dr. Holmes research program investigates how muscle recruitment and control strategies influence tissue loading and injury risk. The overall goal is to better understand work-related upper extremity disorders by identifying neuromechanical mechanisms of injury and pain.
