The boreal forest is a critical ecological and economical asset for Canada and the world. In the next decades, this ecosystem will undergo changes at an unprecedented rates due to global change. My research program aims to investigate, with a multidisciplinary perspective, the importance of micronutrients cycling on biological dinitrogen fixation in boreal ecosystems to yield new insights into boreal ecosystems function and their response to anthropogenic stresses (e.g. metal contaminants, global climate change). This work will strengthen our ability to manage natural resources in a sustainable manner and contribute to address the challenge of global climate change.
