The Tier 2 CRC in Nuclear Fuels and Materials will investigate the behavior of advanced nuclear reactor fuels to increase the performance and safety of reactors, support emerging nuclear fuel technologies, and ensure safe and environmentally responsible storage of spent nuclear fuel. The CRC will use innovative approaches to better understand nuclear fuel and material behaviour through advanced modelling and simulation techniques coupled with experimental validation. With Canadas increased reliance on nuclear power, results from the CRC program will increase the efficiency and safety of nuclear fuel and materials for existing and emerging technologies.
