The proposed CRC aims to examine unsteady aerodynamics flow phenomena which have a significant impact on aircraft flight performance, within the context of stiff international competition, as well as increased sustainability (e.g. CO2 emissions) and security concerns (e.g. adverse climate conditions such as icing and atmospheric turbulence). The proposed research will build on the nominees expertise in aircraft aerodynamic flow simulations to develop novel modeling and numerical approaches to examine multi-fidelity unsteady flow formulations. The CRCs program will address multi-disciplinary phenomena (e.g. aero-elastic, aero-icing) in collaboration with several national/international academic, institutional and industrial collaborators, complemented by dedicated wind-tunnel tests.
