Professor Murray will pursue his suggestion that the recently discovered compact terrestrial planet systems formed in place in massive planetesimal disks. He will continue to work out the effects of radiation pressure and supernovae on the formation and evolution of galaxies across cosmic time, and the impact of the winds they generate on the tenuous gas between galaxies. Using large scale numerical simulations, he will model the impact of black hole jets on galaxy clusters. He will use observations of gravitationally lensed massively star-forming galaxies to map out the structure of dark matter inside of galaxy halos.
