项目摘要

Assessing how the cryosphere and landscapes are responding to anthropogenic impacts and climate change has been an important goal in Earth system science over the past decade, especially with respect to projections of water resources and natural hazards due to shrinking glaciers and ice caps. Dr. Koppes research examines relationships between climate change, ice dynamics, meltwater production, and the erosion of landscapes. Her program will inform our understanding of the dynamics of polar ice sheets, and improve predictions of changes in ice masses, hazards and water resources in a warming climate, as part of Canadas contribution to global climate science.
