项目摘要
One of the reasons for the success of the Canadian SMEs working in the automotive sector is their ability to innovate by reducing the weight of the component they design and produce. In this project, the car suspension company Raufoss and the university ÉTS will develop a predictive model able to assess the fatigue performance of a forged part made of AA6082 aluminum. The outcomes will be a better understanding on how forging improve the fatigue performance of forged parts and a model able to predict the performance of a forged part from the thermomechanical history produced during the forging process. The availability of such model will promote the development of new parts with optimum shape and lower weight. This will provide a competitive edge to the aluminum industry and its transformation, consolidate the Canadian leadership in these sectors, and contribute to the lightening of vehicles.
