This NSERC Alliance project involves a partnership between Sciencetech (London ON) and the Ultrafast electron Imaging Laboratory (UeIL) of the University of Waterloo. Sciencetech is a 100% Canadian owned company that has positioned itself as a growing leader in the production of solar simulators, high-resolution spectrometers, and a variety of spectroscopic instrumentation. Sciencetech has designed and manufactured optical spectroscopy instruments in Canada during the past 36 years. UeIL is an academic research laboratory that specializes in the development of hardware and software solutions for advanced ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopies.This proposal will enable the production of a fully automated ultrafast time-resolved broadband spectrometer, herein referred to as SciFast. This development involves both hardware and software and will be completed within 18 months.This partnership will lead to the generation of technology innovation that will confer a strong base for growth with the addition of two new product offerings to Sciencetech's portfolio and improved software solutions: SciFast as a fully integrated system and a high-speed dispersive broadband spectrometer (the detector of SciFast) as a standalone unit. The latter will extend the current line of spectrometers of Sciencetech by incorporating their first compact dispersive model.To the best of our knowledge, there is only a handful of companies worldwide providing similar products to SciFast, which will become the first fully integrated time-resolved broadband spectrometer produced in Canada.
