A standardized terminology and nomenclature system for triaging outpatient referrals has been developed thatcaptures quantifying terms for triage categories, and acuity of the appointment. This nomenclature system hasbeen developed by Drs. Vladimir Belostotsky, Madan Roy, Angelo Mikrogianakis and is accepted forpublication in the leading Canadian child health journal Paediatrics and Child Health.A demand modelling tool building on this standardized terminology and nomenclature system, can adjustdemand and/or performance criteria to simulate different resource allocation scenarios.Based on positive feedback from stakeholders in the McMaster and HHSC communities, we request funds tocomplete a Market Assessment to determine the market segments for the demand modelling tool and whatbarriers may exist to entry. This will inform our business plan to encourage successful technology transfer andcommercialization.
