英文摘要
Telemetry systems that collect sensor data from remote or inaccessible sites and transmit it to the desired destinations have now become important in many applications. Safety critical systems, in particular, require that accurate data be communicated reliably and securely in a timely manner even in harsh environmental conditions where the potential for the failure of the communication devices are high. We have developed a novel multi-channel telemetry system that can work reliably and securely if some of its components or devices or even communication channels have failed, either due to harsh environment conditions, or some hostile actions by some adversaries. Since the fundamental goal of this system is to provide an infrastructure-free, reliable and resilient communication system for harsh environments, it can be tailored to many different domains of applications such as monitoring nuclear power plants in accident conditions, disaster management, mining operations, military surveillance, space explorations, naval ships/vessels monitoring and health care applications.Although there is a need for such a system in various safety-critical applications from technical point of view, however, it is important to better understand the market potential for the end-product. In this regard, it is essential to conduct market research as well as to conduct stakeholder interviews to identify specific needs based on different application domains so that the product features can be tailored to meet the domain specific needs. Such a market research will also help better estimating the market size for the developed product. As a part of L2M initiative, this project will focus on market research to determine the most feasible path for the viable commercialization of the product. A deliverable of this project will be a detailed market assessment report and a business plan, will be used for next phases of the I2I application process.
