The proposal is for a Market Assessment project with the Lab2Market Program to assess the commercial potential for a technology that resulted from prior research. The goal is to gain clarity on the commercial feasibility of the technology through market research and define a path forward. This technology is a software for Automated Vehicles (AVs) testing in simulation, developed to address major shortcomings of current AV simulation technologies (scalability, interoperability, and repeatability), and accelerate and scale testing to cover difficult and rare scenarios. The software-based solution allows defining AV test scenarios and executing them, while integrating with any existing specialized simulation infrastructure, in a scalable, interoperable, and repeatable manner. Specifically, It addresses the complex issue of defining the behaviors of road users (vehicles, human driven or automated, and pedestrians) and the ability to inject them into existing simulation environments. It also supports recreating scenarios from recorded traffic and injecting edge case behaviors.
