Professor Melko undertakes research in the complex world of quantum many-body physics using advanced computer simulation techniques. The current research will gain an understanding of entanglement in both real experimental quantum systems, as well as in more abstract quantum theories of matter and materials. Together with pioneering developments combining modern machine learning with current algorithms for quantum simulation, this research will produce new, powerful computational techniques for the advancement of numerical quantum physics research into the 21st century.
