英文摘要
The main objective of my research program is to understand songbird vocal communication in an integrative manner, from behaviour to brain. Songbirds learn their vocalizations in a manner analogous to human speech learning, and their vocalizations are critical to their survival, playing a key role in mating, territoriality, and anti-predator behaviour. My overall research question is: "How do songbirds communicate using their songs and calls?" My research team and I use many different, convergent research techniques that are all focused on answering this one overarching research question, while approaching the question in several different, complementary ways.
