The proposed research program will develop next-generation, autonomous and self-optimizing wireless networks that can support ultra-fast, ultra-reliable and low-latency connectivity for 5G verticals including smart grid, autonomous vehicles, healthcare and industrial IoT. Dr. Erol Kantarci¿s program is aiming to develop innovative Artificial Intelligence-based resource allocation, interference and mobility management solutions, as well as edge computing techniques that will weave machine learning into the network fabric in an unprecedented way. Breakthrough performance for wireless networks will strengthen Canada¿s leading role in telecommunications. Highly qualified personnel will be trained on state-of-the-art methods and tools to become the leaders of tomorrow¿s telecommunications industry.
