This project aims to define a chemical and temporal "fingerprint" for volcanic rocks in the so-called "GoldenTriangle" of northwest British Columbia which are most prospective for precious-metal rich VHMS andepithermal deposits, and supply tools to allow mineral deposit explorers to recognise and map those host rocks and discover new deposits. This project will establish a geological and exploration framework that willimprove precious and base metal discovery success in the Golden Triangle. We will develop new knowledgeand tools to help explorers understand where they are within the volcanic stratigraphy, to recognise the most prospective stratigraphy, and to enable them to differentiate and target mineral deposit styles. A refined stratigraphic understanding will aid explorers to distinguish mineralizing systems and fertile host rocks, allow an enhanced understanding of structural controls on deposits, and enable explorers to more easily recognise post-deposit structural modification.
