项目摘要

Canada's residential construction sector is seeking novel solutions to construct low-emission homes in a cost-effective and durable manner. The established high-performance window glazing unit manufacturer, LiteZone Glass Inc. (LiteZone) is partnering with established magnesium oxide (MgO) structural insulated panel (SIP) manufacturer, MagWall Inc. (MagWall) to develop a highly insulated SIP with factory installed highly insulated windows. This is a novel integration of these two company products. LiteZone and MagWall have engaged the experts at the Green Building Technologies (GBT) research group at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) to develop an innovative integrated system of these two technological solutions. The "ThermaVue integrated structurally insulated panel and glazing system" will provide fast site assembly with industry leading energy efficiency, addressing growing consumer demand for energy efficient homes and buildings. The novel product is aligned to constructing low emissions buildings that capitalize on the reduced construction timelines of SIP construction while eliminating the need for a separate window unit site installation. It will create an innovative high performing wall and window system for net-zero energy single and multi-family homes and small commercial buildings.
