Exploring physics beyond the Standard Model

The Standard Model of particle physics is in exquisite agreement with experimental data. However, many aspects of particles physics remain misunderstood. For example we do not understand what set the scale of the Higgs mass, why particles have a very wide spectrum of masses, what constitute dark matter and why there is more matter than anti-matter in the universe. Particle physics has also entered a data rich era with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) collecting and analyzing large quantity of collisions, putting the Standard Model to the test in all possible ways. At the same time, experiments looking for dark matter in direct and indirect ways are underway and being developed. My research program aims at proposing solutions to the various shortcoming of the Standard Model by building models that go beyond it. I will make use of the data collected at the LHC and other experiments to build new models of particle physics and will propose ways in which these models could be tested experimentally, at the LHC or otherwise.I hope that my research program can further our understanding of the most basic building blocks of matter and of how they are organized in the universe.
