水玉簪属的世界性专著研究

水玉簪科水玉簪属（Burmannia L.）含大约60种，泛热带分布，是研究植物-真菌协同进化和生物地理学的理想类群。该类群因其特有的真菌异养习性，植株高度退化，可采用的形态特征细微难辩，且仅在开花季节季节性出现，标本少，研究困难，问题类群多，属内系统发育关系不清晰，前人研究多有不足。项目拟在申请人前期研究的基础上，通过对馆藏于世界主要标本馆，以及原来研究忽略的一些热带地区国家标本馆的标本进行深入研究，结合在热带地区广泛的野外考察与采集，对疑难物种作出分类学澄清；开展代表种类的传粉观察和繁殖生物学研究，深入理解其变异式样；分别采用核基因、线粒体基因和可靠的叶绿体基因片重建系统发育；提出新的基于单系的水玉簪属分类系统。最终完成水玉簪属世界性专著。

Burmannia L. (Burmanniaceae) is a pantropical genus with ca. 60 species of various growth habits, ranging from green-leaved to holo-myco-heterotrophic, is an ideal group to study the co-evolution between plants and symbiotic fungi, and to study biogeography. Because of the myco-heterotrophic habits, most of the species in the genus are highly reduced with few recognizable morphological characters. The plants of the genus usually only emerge shortly to flower after the raining season, causing the scarcity of specimens and other study material. The genus is notorious for the difficulties in species delimitation, dubious species identification, and poorly-sampled generic phylogeny. Here we propose to conduct a monography of the genus based on world-wide revision of the genus, by widespread collection of specimens, detailed study of the specimens in main herbaria. Pollination and reproductive biology of representative species will be studied to help understanding the variation patterns of the species. A reconstructed phylogeny of the genus will be based on nuclear, mitochondrial, as well as chloroplast genes, and by sampling most of the species. A new generic classification system will be proposed, and a monograph of the genus will be published.
