Soil salinization has been the crucial factors that restricted the agricultural production. The molecular mechanism underlying salt stress response in plant is very complicated so that the cultivating of salt-tolerant crops remains challenging. As the sessile organism, plant need to rapidly respond and acclimate to the surrounding environment, through regulating the ion homeostasis. Protein phase behavior was exquisitely sensitive to changing physical-chemical conditions. Protein liquid-liquid phase separation was a widely used cellular mechanism to adapt to stressful environment. SAUR proteins are a family of rapid auxin response proteins, they have the characteristics of small molecular weight and rapid metabolism, making them very suitable for rapid response. We found that SAUR41s were involved in salt stress response. The SAUR41s proteins undergo liquid-liquid phase separation and the phase behavior changed during adapting to salt stress in Arabidopsis. The currently proposed investigation is focused on how SAUR41s proteins participate in the regulation of salt stress response through liquid-liquid phase separation. Meanwhile, we aim to provide new cue for the study of salt-tolerant plant.
