Long chain non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are closely associated with cervical cancer metastasis. Some lncRNAs act as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) to regulate gene expression. However, few studies have investigated lncRNAs as ceRNAs in cervical cancer. A national natural science foundation project identified lncRNA799 as being expressed in cervical cancer. A functional study confirmed that lncRNA799 increases the expression of TBL1XR1 (encoding transducin beta like 1 X-linked receptor 1) to promote metastasis in cervical cancer. Recently, using bioinformatics, we found that the lncRNA799 and TBL1XR1 sequences both have an miR-454-3p response element. Preliminary experiments found that these three RNAs form protein complexes with Ago2. Therefore, we speculated that lncRNA799 may act as a ceRNA to mediate miR-454-3p’s regulation of TBL1XR1, thus promoting cervical cancer metastasis. This study will use Ago2-RNA immunoprecipitation, luciferase reporters, and other molecular biology techniques, in vivo and in vitro, to confirm the ceRNA characteristics of lncRNA799 in terms of its molecular structure and cellular biological functions. We will then screen and verify the TBL1XR1 downstream signaling pathways to clarify the molecular mechanism whereby TBL1XR1 promotes cervical cancer metastasis. Understanding the mechanism cervical cancer metastasis has important theoretical and clinical significance.
