龟象亚科Ceutorhynchinae是鞘翅目象虫科中呈世界性分布的一个亚科，全世界已记录11族173属1337种。由于寄主专一性高、个体较小、种间形态差异小，种类鉴定困难，影响了对种间、属间、族间关系的深入了解。亚科现行分类系统无法体现族级甚至属级分类阶元的系统发育地位，多数族的范畴及单系性存在较大争议。申请人综合文献记录和检视标本，发现中国龟象亚科昆虫已知和未定名的种类共10族56属219种，亟待深入系统分类修订。本项目拟全面系统研究中国龟象亚科分类及系统发育，重点系统分类修订32属，并从形态学角度进行属级识别的形态指标筛选；同时采用4个线粒体基因序列为分子标记，选取50个代表性物种，分析其系统发育关系；综合形态和分子系统学证据，分析并解决龟象亚科各族的单系性问题，重建各族的范畴，明确重建后各族的系统发育关系，为深入研究龟象昆虫与寄主植物的相互关系及协同进化等科学问题奠定基础。

As a subfamily of Curculionidae in Coleoptera, Ceutorhynchinae is distributed almost worldwide, with 1337 species in 173 genera and 11 tribes recorded. Because of their high host specificity, great diversity, wide distribution, tiny body size and distinct morphological similarity, identification of the taxon is never been easy. Phylogenetic work on the group is still very limited, and hardly any characters are known that clearly suggest the monophyly of some subgroups above the generic level. Many tribes are even not clearly defined. Based on the previous records and new materials examined, 219 species in 56 genera and 10 tribes are discovered from China. This proposal plans to work on systematics of Ceutorhynchinae from China, based on taxonomic revision in generic level and combined morphological and molecular phylogeny in tribal level. At least 32 major genera would be reviewed and four mitochondrial genes of 50 representative species would be sequenced and analyzed as well as the morphological data to reconstruct phylogenetic relationships within the subfamily. The results will promote the systematic research of the subfamily and prepare the further studies into the coevolutionary relationships between the ceutorhynchine weevils and their specified host plants.
