数学文化研究正在国内外形成一股热潮，其成果也广泛地应用到高等教育，国内一些高校纷纷开设数学文化课程，受到学生的欢迎和社会的广泛关注，如顾沛在南开大学开设的《数学文化》，以通俗的形式揭开数学的神秘面纱而广泛受到好评。数学文化学正日益发展成为一门独立的学科，但仍在探索和完善中，如郑毓信等的《数学文化学》。本项目正是在这样的背景下进一步开展数学文化研究，侧重于数学的文化价值，把数学作为一门基础性学科，更多地关注和研究数学与各学科的关系，包括哲学、自然科学、人文社会科学，涉及到数学思想方法在各学科的广泛应用、同各学科的辩证关系等。具体研究内容概括为两方面：（1）数学在学科体系中的地位，确立数学的文化价值的基础和背景；（2）数学与各学科的辩证关系，建立在学科基础上来具体研究数学文化内涵。该项研究不仅丰富数学文化学的研究，而且为高校数学文化课程建设提供有力的支持，有利于提升大学生的数学文化素养。

The study of mathematical culture is forming and its achievements were broadly used in many universities. Many universities are constructing the course of mathematical culture and their students who major in different disciplines are interested in mathematical culture and the course of mathematical culture is focused on by society. For example, Mathematical Culture which is lectured on by professor Gu Pei in Nankai University, uncovers the mystery of mathematics so as to get favourable comments. Mathematical Culturology is developing a new independent discipline,but is probing and perfecting. This project is studying in the backgrounds, and will focus on the cultural values of mathematics. Mathematics as a basic discipline is more focused on the relations with the different disciplines including Philosophy, Natural Sciences,Humanities and Social Sciences. The contents of the project may generalize the following two points: (1) The status of Mathematics in disciplinary system. This is to establish the backgrounds of cultural values of mathematics. (2) Dialectical relations with mathematics and the different disciplines. This is to study connotation of mathematical cultures from the concrete disciplines. The study of the project will enrich Mathematical Culturology and support the course of mathematical culture in the universities and uplift college students’ qualities about mathematical culture.
