本课题面向城市历史地理及信息化研究，以六朝时期的南京为时空研究范围，对超媒体GIS技术在城市历史地理研究中应用的基本科学问题与关键技术展开探索。在理论层面，探索面向新一代Web Maps服务的超媒体历史地理信息的组织、存储与表达的内在机理；在方法、技术层面，改进OOMH-GIS模型（面向对象的超媒体GIS模型），研究超媒体历史地理信息的获取、组织、发布、共享机制，探索超媒体地图的结构、编著、表现、导航等核心技术，发展基于开源工具的超媒体历史地理信息系统建构模式；在实证研究环节，建立六朝南京历史地理专题数据库，编绘超媒体历史地图，研制超媒体历史地理信息原型系统，初步实现Web制图、多媒体展示、可视化查询和信息发布功能，多角度再现六朝时期南京的历史地理图景。研究面向国际"空间综合人文学与社会科学"学术发展前沿，是将新型GIS技术融入历史地理、城市地理、历史文献等多学科交叉领域的一次积极探索。

Aimed at promoting research level of urban historical geography studies and using information technologies, and taking Nanjing city during the Six Dynasties (Liuchao-Jiankang) as study area, this research makes efforts to explore the basic science issues and key technologies of hypermedia GIS technology in the urban historical geography studies. .At the theoretical level, this project will study the new theory of hypermedia web map service（WMS）, internal mechanism of data storage, information organization and map expression of historical geographical data,especially in regional or urban scale..In methods and technologies, this research will improve the OOMH-GIS model (Object-Oriented Model of Hypermedia GIS), and explore the technology of data access to historical geographic information and methods of organizing, publishing, sharing of hypermedia historical maps, further to discuss the navigation structure, authoring sytem, mapping representation, spatial SQL, and other core technologies. Based on open source software tools, this study also advance the technology and development framework of hypermedia GIS..In empirical study stage, this project will establish hypermedia database of urban historical geography of Nanjing city during the six dynasties, and make compilation of hypermedia historical maps, development the prototype system of hypermedia historical GIS. It have the functions of web mapping, map browsing, multimedia visualization, spatial query, map resources publishing, and will achieve the goals of showing historical geographical representation of Nanjing city during the six dynasties from multiple angles of view ..This research also have the international-oriented "space integrated Humanities and social science" frontiers of academic development, and bring the new hypermedia GIS technology into the historical geography, urban geography, historical literature, and other interdisciplinary fields.
