引力波探测是当前国内外物理学与天文学研究前沿的热点。与地面激光干涉仪(如LIGO)探测到的高频引力波互补,空间激光干涉引力波探测器能够探测低频(0.1 mHz-1 Hz)引力波。这个频段的引力波波源非常丰富,包含大质量双黑洞,银河系密近双星,极端质量比旋近等。目前国际上提出了LISA等计划,国内提出了太极、天琴等计划。不同空间探测器面临的共同挑战是如何将不同种类波源的大量信号从探测器输出的数据中分辨出来,并估计每一个波源候选体的物理参数。本项目的主要研究内容包括(1)在统一的框架下模拟不同空间探测器的数据,并建立时间延迟干涉(TDI)数据组合;(2)单探测器多波源信号的分辨;(3)多探测器多波源信号的分辨;(4)数据非理想特征对数据分析的影响。这些研究将有助于建立完善且高效的空间探测器数据分析算法与软件,提高波源信号的探测率和参数估计精度,为后续引力波物理与天文学的研究打下基础。
英文摘要
Gravitational wave detection is a hot-pursuit topic in the frontier of physics and astronomy at home and abroad. Complementary to the high frequency gravitational waves detected by the ground-based laser interferometer (LIGO), the space-based laser interferometer gravitational wave detector can detect low frequency (0.1 mHz-1 Hz) gravitational waves. There are abundant gravitational wave sources in this band, including massive black hole binaries, close binaries in the Galaxy, extreme mass ratio inspirals, etc. At present, international project, such as LISA, and domestic project, such as Taiji and Tianqin, have been proposed. The common challenge facing by different space detectors is how to resolve a large number of signals of different source kinds from the output data and estimate the physical parameters of each candidate source. The main research contents of this project include: (1) simulating the data of different space detectors in a unified framework and establishing time delay interference (TDI) data combinations; (2) resolution of multi-source signals from a single detector; (3) resolution of multi-source signals from multiple detectors and (4) study the impact of data non-ideal characteristics on data analysis. These studies will help to establish state of art data analysis algorithms and software for space detectors, improve the detection rate of source signals and the accuracy of parameter estimation, and build a foundation for the follow-up researches on gravitational wave physics and astronomy.
