白裤瑶是瑶族众多支系中的一个分支，因白裤瑶男子常年穿着白裤而得名，主要分布在广西南丹县里湖乡、八圩乡和贵州荔波县瑶山乡，被联合国教科文组织认定为民族文化保留最完整的民族之一。白裤瑶对周边植物的利用具有非常丰富的经验和民族特色。由于缺乏文字记载、传承模式保守、经济快速发展的冲击，当地人利用植物的传统知识流失严重。本项目拟采用民族植物学、植物资源学、植物分类学、生物信息数据库等多学科研究方法，对白裤瑶地区的民族植物学知识进行系统调查、整理和分析，掌握白裤瑶对植物的传统命名和分类的方法，完成白裤瑶民族植物学编目，并建立白裤瑶植物资源数据库；挖掘具有开发价值的白裤瑶特色植物资源；分析白裤瑶与其周边生态环境的相互关系，揭示白裤瑶文化对自然资源的保护和利用。

Baiku Yao is a branch of the Yao, the men wear white pants all year round, most of them are living in Nandan County, Guangxi and Libo County, Guizhou. They have been referred as one of the ethnic groups who possess the most intact national culture by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. The Baiku Yao people are proficient to utilize surrounding plants for living. However, the traditional ethnobotanical knowledge of Baiku Yao is greatly threatened due to lack of literary record, conservative inheritance patterns, and rapid economic development as well. Here, we conduct systematic ethnobotany investigation of Baiku Yao by integrated the methods of Plant Resources, Plant Taxonomy, Computer Science. We aim to obtain the traditional knowledge of the nomenclature and classification of the traditional plants which used by Baiku Yao people, and then complete the Ethnobotanical Inventory and establish the database of resources plants of Baiku Yao. Base on the Grading and Ranking, we will further excavate the potential valuable medicinal plant resources. By analyze the cultural ecology relationship between Baiku Yao and the surrounding senvironment, to reveal the model of Baiku Yao how to utilization and conservation the natural resources.
