《数学译林》是国内唯一的综合性数学译刊，由中国科学院数学研究所于1980 年创办试刊，1982 年正式出版，自1998 年起由中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院主办。.《数学译林》选题广泛，内容丰富，深受广大数学研究工作者、大学教师、中学教师、研究生、大学生、数学爱好者的喜爱，为促进我国数学事业的发展，加速数学人才的培养做出了积极的贡献。.多年来基金委每年都给予经费的支持，为《数学译林》的发展奠定了重要基础。为了适应新形势的需要，这一届执行编委会尝试了对期刊全面改革，提升期刊水平。在坚持实行“执行编委责任制”的同时，不仅对选文、翻译、校对、编排、印制、发行等各个环节都提出了新的要求（如拟彩色印刷），更要求翻译刊载的每一篇文章都附有参考文献、获得翻译出版许可，全面落实版权问题，并已初见成效。目前《数学译林》网站初步建设完成，并在进一步完善中。举办一次学术会议，进行学术交流。

"Mathematical Advances in Translation(MAT)" is a translated journal which was sponsored by the Academy of Mathematics and System Sciences(Chinese Academy of Sciences). ..The journal is non-profit targetting at providing a gengeral information about the world mathematics advances. Many of the appearing articles are translated papers that are well selected from "Notices of AMS"and "Bulletin of AMS" of American Mathematical Society (AMS), "The Amer.Math.Monthly"and "Mathematics Magazine"of the Mathematical Association of America(MAA), "SIAM News"and"SIAM REVIEW", "EMS Newsletter" ,"MSJ Sugaku" and et al... The distribution is in a small scale and all of them are at a resonable price, but the journal was very welcomed among the mathematicians, especially those in the rural areas and the young school teachers to whom such kind of material are not easily accessible...Although from the very first issue, we always clearly state the originations, including the author, title, journal, year, volume and pages et al, to ensure that the reader can easily refer to the original, but we did not ask the authors/institutes the formal permission for the translation and reprint. To meet the demanding needs and honor the copyright, at the beginning of 2008 the executive editorial board made a decision: for every article appeared in MAT the permission must been granted before into translation and reprinting process. We are very glad that we have got great supports both from insititutes such as AMS, EMS, SIAM, MAA et al and the authors. At the same time the executive editorial board decided to spare more efforts to promote the standard of journal from all aspects, ranging from articles selection, translation, layout, printing, distribution and the MAT webpage. Now the construction of the MAT webpage has been roughly completed and is improving.We will hold a conference to communicate with mathematical professors and experts.
