社会（道德）情感的产生及其效用：预期误差作为一种计算神经机制

Social (moral) emotions refer to the complex emotions that arise from social interaction and influence social behaviors, such as gratitude, guilt, and resentment. Social emotions function either as the affective experience of an actual social event or as the anticipatory emotional response to future social events that influence current decision-making. Both of these manifestations of emotion are dependent on individuals’ predictions of social events and responses to the deviations from these predictions. Previous neuroscience studies focus primarily on the neural correlates of social emotions, but have not revealed the mechanisms underlying the generation of social emotions and the impact of these emotions upon social (moral) decision-making. Recently, emerging research has begun to apply computational modeling (mainly the reinforcement learning theory, which is based on the concept of “prediction error”) to social decision-making and affective processing. Inspired by this new approach, in the current project, we will appeal to the reinforcement-learning theory, especially the concept of prediction error, and systematically examine the neural computations of social (moral) emotions. We will combine interpersonal interaction tasks, computational modeling, functional magnetic resonance imaging, and pharmacological manipulation, and investigate three important questions: (1) What is the role of social prediction error in the generation of social (moral) emotions? (2) How do the anticipatory social emotions influence social (moral) decision-making? (3) How does dopamine manipulation alter the processing of social prediction error and, in turn, affect social emotions and social decision-making? By addressing these three fundamental questions, this project will provide an important theoretical basis for understanding human social emotions and social decision-making.

社会（道德）情感是人类在社会交互中体验到、并对社会行为产生作用的高级情感，如感激、内疚、怨恨等。其作用方式主要有两种：一是作为对社会事件后果的加工而产生的情绪体验，一是作为对未来社会事件的预期性情感反应而影响当前决策。这两种方式都依赖于对社会事件的预期和对偏离预期事件的反应。以往研究考察了社会情感的神经相关物，但没有揭示情感的产生机制及其在社会决策中的作用。在本项目中，我们把强化学习理论、特别是预期误差概念引入社会情感研究中，结合人际互动任务、计算模型、脑成像和药物操作等手段，系统地考察社会情感产生和影响社会（道德）决策的计算-神经机制。我们致力于探讨三个问题：（1）预期误差在社会（道德）情感产生机制中的作用；（2）预期的社会情绪作为决策动机时如何影响社会（道德）决策；（3）多巴胺药物操作如何改变预期误差、进而影响社会情感和社会决策。本项目将为理解人类社会情感和社会决策提供重要的理论基础。

社会（道德）情感是人类在社会交互中体验到的高级情感，一方面可以作为对社会事件后果的加工而产生的情绪体验，另一方面可以作为对未来社会事件的预期性情感反应而影响当前决策。这两种方式都依赖于对社会事件的预期和对预期误差的反应。本项目创新性地把强化学习理论、特别是预期误差概念引入社会情感研究中，结合人际互动任务、计算建模、脑成像和临床异常群体模型因果操纵等手段，系统地考察了社会情感产生和影响道德决策的计算神经机制。.第一部分研究考察预期误差在体验的社会情感产生机制中的作用，结果发现： 1）人际帮助情境中受助者体验的感激和负债感加工分别涉及腹内侧前额叶和背内侧前额叶的神经活动；2）人际伤害情境中伤害方体验的内疚和愤怒情绪均在前扣带回、辅助运动区和背内侧前额叶进行加工，但在这些脑区的神经表征模式不同；3）社会预期误差是以上四种社会情绪产生的潜在共同机制，与腹侧纹状体活动有关。.第二部分研究考察预期的社会情感如何影响道德决策，结果表明：1）个体预期的内疚和嫉妒情绪是道德决策发生的重要动机；2）预期的内疚依赖于心理理论，主要涉及前脑岛、背外侧前额叶和背内侧前额叶；预期的嫉妒加工由情绪主导，涉及后脑岛、杏仁核和背侧前扣带回；3）他人决策的社会影响通过腹内侧前额叶的神经活动调整个体决策中预期的内疚情绪，进而产生道德从众现象。.第三部分研究从因果关系角度出发，考察帕金森群体多巴胺的缺失和情感淡漠群体社会情感的缺失如何影响基于社会情感预期的道德决策。结果发现，两类异常均会导致资源分配中预期的内疚降低、预期的嫉妒升高，导致个体更加不在乎他人利益，提示基于多巴胺系统的社会情感预期可能是道德决策的重要基础。.本项目成果为理解人类社会情感和社会决策提供重要的理论和经验基础，为相关障碍的风险评估及循证矫正提供理论指导。
