当前我国自然保护地发展迎来重大机遇,但也面临人与野生动物冲突激化的严峻挑战。开展自然保护地人与野生动物冲突研究,剖析冲突成因,评估干预成效,探究共存模式,可为自然保护地与社区协调发展提供理论依据。本项目从羌塘自然保护区社区、羌塘自然保护区、热点区等3个尺度,通过牧户调查、机构访谈等调查典型冲突事件,刻画冲突特征,评估主要冲突类型的社会、经济、生态影响。采用样线调查、红外相机监测、动物跟踪项圈、高分遥感与无人机航拍,对野生动物种群规模、栖息地、迁徙通道,草场围栏,人类聚落进行系统调查,结合承载力分析、适宜性分析、空间叠置分析等模型,从重叠空间资源竞争、人类活动扰动及居民容忍度等多维度分析冲突成因。评估已有冲突干预措施的成效,识别共存模式、探讨共存机制。本项目将在人与野生动物冲突成因及共存模式方面形成新认知,为羌塘自然保护区及类似地区协调发展提供科技支撑和策略建议。

There is a great opportunity for development of protected area in China, while a big challenge on the increasing human-wildlife conflicts in the situation of wildlife recovering obviously and the economy development surrounding protected areas. Study on the human-wildlife conflicts including explaining the causes of human-wildlife conflicts, assessment the effectiveness of interventions to conflicts reduction, and exploring human-wildlife coexistence patterns, can harmonize the relationship between human and wildlife in protected areas. The project focus on the drivers and intervention strategy of human-wildlife conflicts in the Chang Tang National Nature Reserve, China. There are three spatial scales in the research, including the community of Chang Tang, Chang Tang Nature Reserve, and the key hotspots. Typical conflict events can be surveyed via institutional interviews and household questionnaires, characteristics of human-wildlife conflicts such as types, frequency was depicted, and impact of conflicts on herder, livestock, wildlife and environment was analyzed also. Wildlife population, habitat, migratory routine, pasture fence, human settlement can be surveyed with methods such as the line transect survey, infrared camera monitoring, Tracking Animal with GPS, remote sensing, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Drivers of human-wildlife conflicts will be analyzed from the multi-dimensions including resource competition, human disturbance and resident tolerance aided by the carrying capacity theory, Maxent model for species suitability and spatial overlay analysis. The effectiveness of conflict interventions already applied were evaluated and inter-species coexistence patterns potential was identified. The project may deeply understand the drivers of human-wildlife conflicts and try to illustrate the coexistence mechanism among species, to give some advices and strategies to coordinate nature conservation and community development.
