儿童友好的可步行城市通学空间,对于儿童健康成长和城市可持续发展至关重要。当前我国城市面临空间结构失配、通学道不完整、步行环境不友好的挑战,带来步行通学比例低、及诸多儿童环境健康问题。已有儿童友好城市研究多从小尺度出发,整体性研究少;传统的可达性优化,忽视了可步行性的综合特征,及其纳入儿童主体视角的潜力。本项目开展,对于系统优化通学空间、充实现有规划设计方法具有积极意义。.本项目提出宏观与微观、客体与主体相结合的方法评估城市通学空间儿童可步行性,识别设施布局不足、步行选线不佳和环境品质低下成因,制定针对性的优化策略。基于GIS集成加工通学空间开源数据,使用儿童步行指数计算宏观网络步行得分,叠合学校可达性分析和基于SoftGIS采集的通学空间主观调查地图;识别可步行性高低的不同类型地段,使用改进的儿童步行环境量表评估微观步行环境品质。以北京市为例,为我国儿童友好的可步行城市实践提供智力支持。

Walkable commuting space to school creating for a child-friendly city (CFC) is vital for promoting children’s healthy growth and sustainable development goals. However, many large cities in China are faced with challenges from spatial mismatch, incomplete school route network and unfriendly walking environment, resulting in low walking ratio and many environmental health problems among children. Most previous CFC studies are from a micro scale with less attention to the whole, while common optimization methods focused on accessibility ignore the comprehensive perspective of walkability and its potential to incorporate children’s subjective assessment. Therefore, research on this issue is of positive significance to the improvement of school route network and walking environment, and enrichment to the current CFC theories and walkability measures..This project proposes an integrated approach for walkability assessment of the commuting space to school, combining objective and subjective perspectives on multi-spatial scale, to determine facility layout insufficiency, school route weakness and the causes of low environmental quality, which is conducive to developing targeted strategies to improve walking environment for children (6-12 yrs old). First, multi-source data from open source maps to describe the commuting space to school is integrated based on GIS, and the Child Walk Score calculation is adopted for a macro-scale evaluation. Second, it is overlapped with accessibility maps and subjective assessment maps based on SoftGIS, to determine different types of areas with low and high walkability. Third, an improved Environment Walkable Scale for Child is used to assess the walking environmental quality on a micro scale. As a verification of the approach, the empirical study will be conducted in the case areas of Beijing, and it is expected to provide useful references and instructions for the CFC practices promoting children’s walkability in China.
