该项目主要针对我国藏文化学名词术语极不统一和藏文科技名词术语规范化、标准化研究工作的严重滞后，对该地区的稳定和发展、科技知识的传播、国内外科技交流、学科和行业间的沟通、科技成果的推广、传统藏医药文化的发展等方面，已成为突出的制约因素。近年来藏文物理、数学术语标准化研究在自然基金的资助下已取得了进展。基于以上问题背景，依据国际术语定名的原则和方法（ISO），参考国际纯粹化学和应用化学联合会公布的《无机化学命名法》、《有机化学命名法》，结合我国相关学科领域名词术语规范化研究成果，对藏文化学基本名词术语进行规范化研究。通过研究草拟《无机化学藏文命名法》、《有机化学藏文命名法》，建立藏文化学基本名词术语数据库，编纂《藏汉英对照化学词汇》（工具书）等成果。促进我国藏文科技名词术语的有序化、规范化、标准化基础研究。该研究是一项基础性知识创新研究，项目成果对其他藏文科技名词术语领域开展规范化研究具有参考

By studying we will draft the Tibetan-language nomenclature of inorganic chemistry and the Tibetan-language nomenclature of organic chemistry, establishment of Tibetan chemistry basic terminology databases, compiling the Tibetan-Chinese and English glossary of Chemistry (reference book). Facilitate the basic research of the ordering, standardization, standardization of Tibetan science and technology terminology.
