统计优化是融合统计学与最优化等学科而产生的一个新兴应用数学分支，它以数据为研究对象，通过统计学方法构建优化模型，并由计算机实现对数据中蕴涵的内在规律进行挖掘、分析、预测与决策的一门科学。随着国家大数据战略的实施以及机器学习与人工智能的发展，在智能交通、信息管理和金融经济等领域的实际应用中产生了一系列大规模复杂数据的理论分析和计算等紧密联系的优化问题，这亟须计算机科学、统计学与最优化等相关学科深入交叉融合。本项目将邀请统计、机器学习与最优化专家通过专题讲习班的形式集中授课，为高年级研究生和青年学者建立一个知识交流平台，促进统计学、数学、计算机科学等相关领域交叉融合，培养复合型高层次人才，更好地为国家大数据产业发展、“东数西算”落实做出应有的贡献。.申请者已经于7月15日至8月11日在北京交通大学举办为期2周专题讲习班，我们计划在12月25-30日在组织1周专题讲习班，总共约120学时。

Statistical optimization is a new branch of applied mathematics arising from disciplines such as statistics and optimization. It takes data as the research object, constructs optimization models through statistical methods, and realizes some work via computer such as data-mining, analyzing, forecasting and making decisions the inherent laws. With the implementation of the national big data strategy and the development of machine learning and artificial intelligence, practical applications in intelligent transportation, information management, financial economy and other fields have produced a series of theoretical analysis and calculation of large-scale complex data and other closely related optimization problems, which urgently require the in-depth cross-integration of related disciplines such as computer science, statistics and optimization. This project will invite experts in statistics, machine learning and optimization to give lectures in the form of thematic workshops, so as to establish a knowledge exchange platform for senior graduate students and young scholars, promote the cross-integration of statistics, mathematics, computer science and other relevant fields, and cultivate interdisciplinary high-level talents. It will make due contributions to the development of the national big data industry and the implementation of "East Digital West Calculation"..We have hold a 2-week workshop at Beijing Jiaotong University from July 15 to August 11, and we plan to open one -week workshop from Dec. 25-30 for a total of about 120 credit hours.
