Nanoscale coordination cavity has potential applications for catalysis, recognition, separation, adsorption and so on. In addition to the molecular structures, the macro structures of materials are also very important to their real applications. Therefore, the processability of materials has attracted much attention. In this project, we propose to construct coordination cage-based glass by combining the function of coordination cavities in coordination cages and the excellent processability of glass materials. First, a series of coordination cages with the same parent structure and different peripheral substituents will be designed and synthesized, and the structure of the resulted coordination cage-based solid will be regulated through the regulation of peripheral groups. Then, the synthesis of coordination cage-based glass will be realized by means of "melting-quenching", mechanical milling, and so on. Second, the relationship between the structures and interactions of coordination cages and the glass ability of the materials will be studied and the construction strategy of coordination cage-based glass will be proposed. The structures, properties and applications on chromatographic separation and pollutant adsorption in water of the selected coordination cage-based glasses will be studied. After the completion of the project, a new type of glass will be developed to build a new bridge between coordination cage molecules and materials, providing new possibilities for the application of coordination cage-based materials.
