Thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) materials have emerged as promising alternatives to phosphorescent materials containing precious metal atoms for the construction of efficient OLEDs. The development of blue-emitting TADF materials that can achieve stable and efficient blue OLEDs represent an extremely important and challenging research topics in the current OLED field. Based on our preliminary results, we propose herein to design blue TADF molecules based on non-planar rigid scaffolds with unique structural characteristics. Various regulation strategies of molecular structure and excited states will be adopted to improve the luminous efficiency and color purity, shorten the emission lifetime, improve stability and film-forming property, and as a result, to obtain novel blue TADF materials with excellent comprehensive properties. We will investigate systematically the inherent relationship between the molecular structure, the luminescent properties, and luminescence mechanism of these materials. Furthermore, blue OLEDs based on these materials will be fabricated, and the electro-optic conversion process and aging mechanism of the devices will be revealed. Through the implementation of this project, it is expected to develop a number of unique blue TADF materials with excellent properties, and to realize low-cost, stable and efficient OLEDs. Besides, the systematical study on the chemical structure, photophysical properties, stabilities and electroluminescence properties of these materials will deepen the understanding of the relationship between structures and properties, and thus provide valuable reference for the design and synthesis of blue TADF materials.
Mater.、Research、Adv. Funct. Mater.、CCS Chem.、Adv. Sci.
