Special Graduate Student Education and Research Award

美国国家科学基金会1989-90年度少数民族研究生奖学金竞赛中获得“优秀奖”的大学计算机科学/工程专业研究生，有资格向CISE理事会申请研究生特殊教育和研究奖。这些学生就读的11所大学将分别获得6000美元的奖励，以协助他们的教育和研究。每个奖项的学生将获得5000美元。这些奖项的目的是为那些被认为有资格获得少数民族研究生奖学金，但由于缺乏资金而无法获得奖学金的学生提供特别的鼓励。

Applicants to the NSF fiscal year 1989-90 Minority Graduate Fellowship competition who were given "Honorable Mention", and who enrolled as graduate students in Computer Science/Engineering at a university, were eligible to apply to the CISE Directorate for a Special Graduate Student Education and Research Award. Eleven universities attended by these students are being provided awards of $6,000 each to assist the students with their education and research. The students will receive $5,000 of each award. These awards are designed to provide special encouragement to students who were judged worthy of a Minority Graduate Fellowship, but who, for lack of funds could not be awarded one.
