Research Workshop on Geography and Race

本次研讨会将汇集地理学家和其他学科的学者来讨论美国的种族和地理问题。研讨会有四个目标：(1)确定需要进一步研究的关键主题，并重振这些领域的研究活动；(2)培养多领域、多背景专家参与的种族关系跨学科研究；(3)发表一份综合报告，确定未来研究的议程；(4)提高少数民族在学科中的存在和地位。总的目的是促进对美国种族关系和不平等的更广泛、更深入的地理认识。

This workshop will bring together geographers and scholars from other disciplines to discuss issues of race and geography in the United States. The workshop has four objectives: (1) to identify key topics in need of further study and to reinvigorate research activity in these areas; (2) to cultivate cross-disciplinary research on race relations that involves specialists from many fields and backgrounds; (3) to publish a comprehensive report that sets the agenda for future research; and (4) to increase minority presence and status in the discipline. The overall intent is to promote a broader and deeper geographical appreciation of American race relations and inequalities.
