This project will address the fundamental question, "Are we alone in the universe?". The search for life elsewhere is an area of great public interest. It can open up new opportunities for involvement in future large telescopes and space missions. It will help to develop Australian expertise in advanced atmospheric modelling techniques which have wide application in the study of the Earth as well as other planets.
