英文摘要
The project will study the functional impact of the central and fat body clock on the timing of metabolism by taking a metabolomics approach. Building on the already identified oscillating metabolites, we aim to clarify whether these metabolites are regulated in a circadian fashion and study the impact of the molecular clock in the brain and the fat body on metabolic oscillations. After desynchronization of the central and fat body clocks, the metabolic consequences of the disturbed clockwork will be analyzed. The functional significance of circadian clocks for adjusting feeding behavior and metabolism to the physiological optimum will be tested in another work package. Within the CRC, A4 will also function as a central metabolite analysis and metabolomics core unit.
