The targeted observing program is a continuation of research of the applicant's team that has already yielded the as yet largest survey of blue compact dwarf galaxies by means of integral field spectroscopy (Cairos et al. 2009, 2010). In collaboration with the PI of the LARS project (Lyman Alpha Reference Sample), Prof. Östlin, Univ. Stockholm, we intend to use the unique capabilities of PMAS to observe dwarf galaxies of the LARS sample with existing HST images. To supplement existing kinematic data that were already obtained with PMAS, we now wish to obtain information about ionization and extinction in those galaxies.
