Prominence and information structure (C01)

本研究旨在更好地理解突显与信息结构之间的关系，从多个维度考察突显借词的句法和语义/语用特征。首先，我们研究了来自不同语言的自发对话数据中的突出句法位置(左右边缘、分裂、动后主语位置)，并分析了它们作为信息结构单位的结构吸引者的作用。其次，我们基于一个注解任务和一个启发式实验，研究了突出实体之间对话题地位的竞争，以求揭示次范畴论元的突出借出语义特征所起的作用。

This project aims at gaining a better understanding of the relation between prominence and information structure, investigating in a multidimensional approach syntactic and semantic/pragmatic prominence-lending features. First, we study prominent syntactic positions (left and right periphery, clefts, postverbal subject position) in spontaneous dialogue data from various languages, and analyse their role as structural attractors for information-structural units. Second, we study the competition among prominent entities for topic status based on an annotation task and an elicitation experiment, in order to carve out the role of prominence-lending semantic features of subcategorised arguments.
