Role of the phospholipid hydroxyperoxide glutathion peroxidase (PHGPx) GPx4 in murine hepatozytes and hepatocarcinogenesis (A22*)

谷胱甘肽-过氧化物酶4是细胞抗氧化系统的一部分，缺失会引发一种特殊形式的细胞死亡，即铁下垂。这个新项目的目的是利用肝细胞特异性Gpx4基因敲除小鼠来研究Gpx4在肝脏中的作用。另一个重点是使用合适的遗传小鼠模型来研究基于转座子的肝癌和非酒精性脂肪性肝炎(NASH)模型中依赖Gpx4的铁下垂。

Glutathion-Peroxidase 4 is part of the anti-oxidant system of the cell and a loss can trigger a specific form of cell death, namely ferroptosis. Aim of this new project is the investigation of role of GPx4 in the liver using hepatocyte specific GPx4 knockout mice. Another focus lies on investigating the GPx4-dependent ferroptosis in transposon based models of hepatocarcinogenesis and non-alcoholic steatoheapatitis (NASH) using suitable genetic mouse models.
