Community intervention study utilizing social marketing to improve life style among residents of isolated islands

研究对象为长崎县的离岛和大陆居民。大陆受试者数量为1，426例，孤岛受试者数量为379例（后藤群岛135例;伊基群岛128例;对马群岛166例）。根据食物组的摄入量进行了比较孤岛和大陆之间。结果显示，离岛居民的米和糖的摄入量高于大陆居民，而大陆居民的鲜艳蔬菜、新鲜海鲜和油脂的摄入量高于离岛居民。在孤立的岛民之间的比较显示，大米的摄入量在伊基和对马岛高于后藤群岛。相反，后藤诸岛的新鲜海产品和加工海产品的摄入量高于伊基和对马诸岛。建议考虑与世隔绝的岛民生活方式的社会文化背景对社区干预很重要。

The study was conducted on residents of isolated islands and mainland in Nagasaki Prefecture. The number of subjects were 1,426 for mainland and 379 (Goto Islands 135; Iki Island 128; Tsushima Islands 166) for isolated islands. Intakes according to food group were compared between isolated islands and mainland. The results showed that the intakes of rice and sugar were higher in isolated islanders than in mainland residents, although the intakes of brightly colored vegetables, fresh seafood and oil and fats were higher in mainland residents than in isolated islanders. The comparison among isolated islanders revealed that the intakes of rice were higher in Iki and Tsushima Islands than in Goto Islands. To the contrary, the intake of fresh seafood and processed seafood products were higher in Goto islands than in Iki and Tsushima Islands. It was suggested that consideration on socio-cultural background of life style among isolated islanders were important to community intervention.
