Development of a research method for the analysis of learning process in monkeys troop adopting an electric identifying device of each individual monkeys.

灵长类动物在自然环境下的行为研究取得了巨大进展，采用了一种通过观察者的眼睛来识别每只猴子的技术。然而，这种方法在分析猴群学习过程中存在一些困难。很难准确记录在什么时候谁做出了反应，也很难根据个体成员的表现来改变学习任务的计划。此外，人类观察员不可能连续观察24小时。为了克服这些困难，该项目开发了一种计算机化的电子设备，用于识别每只猴子。该识别装置可识别位于30X30X30 cm传感场内的十种不同的猴项圈。研制了一种新的猴子饲料喂料器和用于实验控制的msx计算机系统。

Research on primate behavior under natural setting showed a tremendous progress by adoption of a technique to identify each individual monkeys through observers eyes. However, this method has several difficulties for the analysis of learning process in monkeys troop. It is difficult to record precisely when and who made a response and to change the program of learning task accord with performance of individual members. Further, continuous observation for 24 hours by human observer is impossible.In order to overcome these difficulties a computerized electric device for identifying each individual monkeys has been developed by this project. The identifying device can discriminate ten different monkey collars which are located in the sensing field of 30X30X30 cm. A new feeder for monkey chow and an MSX-computer system for experimental control were also developed.
