GRK 1070: Modelling Material Flows and Production Systems for Sustainable Resource Use in Intensified Crop Production in the North China Plain

华北平原农业粮食生产的特点是生产强度高、轮作周期长、产量高。中国农业的发展没有考虑到可持续性，主要侧重于提高生产力，以满足不断增长的人口和不断提高的生活水平的需要。因此，中国的农业生产带来了严重的环境问题，如水资源减少、空气和水污染以及土壤退化。

Agricultural food production in the North China Plain is characterised by high level production intensities, crop rotations and yields. Sustainability has not been taken into account in the development of Chinas agriculture that has been mainly focused on raising productivity in order to meet the needs of a growing population with rising living standards. As a consequence, agricultural production in China entails serious environmental problems like reduced water availability, air and water pollution, and soil degradation.
